My Project

Kindergarten students are being asked to do more and learn more every year. Kindergarten is no longer a place where students are just learning social skills and school skills, but they are being asked to read, write, add, subtract, understand basic sentence structures, and more. As a prior kindergarten teacher for three years, I can see the importance of setting up the students to be successful.

With a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, I can purchase games and activities other teachers have created for learning with the whole group as well as small groups rather than creating my own.

This provides other teachers appreciation for their time by me purchasing games they have already created. This also provides me time to focus on other areas of my teaching. No longer will I have to spend hours making games that someone has already created, but I can spend time assessing and working 1-on-1 with the students and focusing on their individual needs.

One set of resources I would love to purchase for us are called Category Task Cards. With these cards, we can work with our students on enhancing their vocabulary, linguistic organization and discrimination skills. Over the last two years, over half of my students receive speech services. With early intervention in the classroom as well as pull-out and push-in services, these students can graduate from speech services sooner.
