Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A lot of students have no books at home or any access to books due to where we live being a book desert and their parents not being able to take them to borrow any from libraries nearby. I have a generous class library and I want to start letting my students check them out and take them home but sadly I have no way to organize and keep track of my books so I can continue to do this for students in the coming years. Because I provide everything for my class I can not aimlessly give these to them because I don't have the funds to replace books without knowing where and who they are going to without knowing who I can have find the lost books. Having a label maker for barcodes and a scanner for my library will really help me and the students stay organized while giving them access to books they love at home! This will also give my students another job I can give to work on their independence and responsibility with someone being in charge of checking in and out!!
