My Project
I’m excited to introduce my kindergarteners to the world of STEM through hands-on learning with Bee-Bot coding robots! These interactive robots will help students build essential skills in programming, problem-solving, and critical thinking—all while having fun. The engaging (and adorable!) Bee-Bots will lay a strong foundation for their future journeys into technology.
Bee-Bots are the perfect starting point, because their forward, backward, left, and right command buttons align with the introductory coding block commands that are used in "Hour of Code," which is the next coding tool my students will explore.
This seamless connection will help build students' confidence with coding and smoothly transition them to more advanced programming concepts.
With 24 students in total, these six Bee-Bots will allow six small groups of four students each to collaborate on solving coding challenges. Beyond building programming skills, working in these small groups will foster communication, collaboration, and growth mindsets. As students break down coding challenges, debug, revise, and iterate on their code, they’ll strengthen teamwork and resilience.
