Last year our school opened with a class of about 160 high school students in New Orleans East. They made over two years of reading growth in one year. We currently have a class of 170 ninth graders who desperately need access to books on various reading levels. They need an expanded independent reading library and we need your help to build it.
We seek to empower all students to graduate from college and lead the world.
With the dedication and support of our staff, students, and community, we will exceed expectations that will give our students increased opportunities. With your donations to this projects our students will become voracious and impassioned readers.
My Project
Help put great books in the hands of 170 high school freshmen in New Orleans East. Every day my students will devour these books and become voracious readers. Our students are on a mission to graduate from college and lead the world- these books will put them on the path to achieving that goal.
The students are on a mission to grow more than two grade levels in reading this year.
In order to achieve this goal we need a library of books on various reading levels for students to choose from. We are building our independent reading library and need books for our students to access each day. Your donation to this project will provide them with the books they desperately need to achieve their goal. In order to build a love of reading for enjoyment and pleasure my students need a variety of books to be able to choose from. This project will put great books in the hands of high school freshmen who need them.
