Becoming Radical Readers through Reinforcement and Centers
My students need reading center and reinforcement materials that will allow them to become dynamic readers.

We are a very large class, a class of 33 students to be exact. We are a class which cares about our education. We want to be best the best at what we do….LEARN!!! We are located in a high poverty area where all students receive free lunch.
As adults, we know that reading is fundamental. So…if reading is so fundamental, why is it that we don’t have the materials necessary to teach such a fundamental subject? Our students need more than their reading text to become successful readers. Students need the appropriate materials to build reading comprehension, inferring, and grammar skills. It is my desire to have all of my students become leaders in reading. To do this they need materials that will reinforce skills, promote learning, and keep their attention. The materials being requested work on building these skills and can be used whole-class, in peer-pairs, small groups, or individually. Most of the materials can be used at centers where students can work to build their confidence in reading. It is time for our students to receive and use beneficial materials that have been used in wealthier districts for years.
