Help me give my students Scholastic Magazines so that they can be informed and involved citizens of the world. With the presidential election and inauguration to follow, there is no better time to teach students about our government.
I teach an inquisitive, motivated group of advanced fourth graders who learn by questioning and creating. They are a joyful group eager to discover new things each day. Together, we create a community filled with choice and empowered learners. Design and innovation are integrated into all we do and my goal is to provide exciting and engaging hands-on experiences so that learning comes to life. Ours is a collaborative classroom where students work together to make sense of the world around them. Through exploration and problem solving, students are better able to understand and make a difference in the world they live in. Learning in our class is an adventure!
My Project
With the presidential election around the corner soon to be followed by the inauguration, there is no better time for students to learn about our government in action. Scholastic Magazine focuses on current events and governments at home and abroad.
By reading about how our government works, students will design a system of government for our online classroom.
Information gleaned from Scholastic Magazine, will help students learn how to run a fair and democratic election in our class. Scholastic Magazine will help us take ideas learned and put them into civic action.
