This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember when you were in first grade and your reading was not very fluent? My students are experiencing the same thing, but with your help I am going to teach them how to become fluent readers!

I have taught in urban districts for the last twelve years.

Most of my students come from Spanish speaking households where education is a top priority, but most parents do not speak English. Due to this most of my students do not receive reading help at home. In my district funding for classroom materials is very hard to come by. My students are so excited to learn to read and with your help I can provide materials that will help them become readers and even better, fluent readers.

My Project

I am asking for your assistance in helping me provide my students with materials they need to help them become fluent readers. The use of the Reader's Theater scripts and Fluency Centers in the classroom will reinforce the skills needed to become fluent readers. I want them to know that reading with fluency will help them in their future education.

Please consider funding my project because with your help my students will learn how to become fluent readers.

I really care about the education I provide them as their teacher. One day I hope one of my students will be writing to you asking to fund a project they think will provide a fun-filled learning environment for their students.
