This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was to learn something new using a very exciting material? My students love books but they also love innovative ways to develop their reading skills.

I work with bilingual (Spanish-speaking) students who attend public school.

They are in second grade. Some of them live in conditions of cultural and economic disadvantage. All of them show a great deal of motivation to learn new concepts in both Spanish and English languages.

My Project

The Easi-Speak Recording Microphone will allow my students to record their voice as they read. This resource is a great alternative strategy for developing fluency and oral language skills. The Spanish story book read-alongs set will allow my students to listen and read the story at the same time. This will also help students to develop reading skills.

The donation will make a difference in the students' perceptions of reading.

These materials will allow them to have fun and work on reading skills at the same time. As a teacher, it is very important to me to plant the seed of love for reading in my students.
