Becoming Authors with Bounded Books

Help me give my students the joy of being an author with bound books of their final projects.

My Students

Smiling faces and energy, that is what greets me at the door every morning in my classroom. The safe place I create for my students is so important. Next year, I will be starting off at a brand new school that is opening in the Fall. It is a charter school, so we rely heavily on outside support.

I am happy to call this energetic high needs crew mine.

Together we are contributing to a better world. We are learning the meaning of collaboration, perseverance, and critical thinking. We are learning to set aside our differences and build goals. We are working at becoming problem solvers and critical thinkers to prepare ourselves for the real world (and the small incidents that take place on the playground).

We are lifelong learners! By we, I mean each and every member in our class (crew), including me. My students thrive off discovery and building inquiry. We are a crew filled with a lot of personalities and some challenges. Each and every day we focus on reflection and improving ourselves as much as we can!

My Project

Students are working on creating a final project. Their final project is writing a narrative about discovering a fossil. This is the conclusion of their module they have been working on. They have been learning all about paleontologists.

How cool would it be to write a narrative about discovering a fossil then having it laminated and spiral-bound to share with others?

I would love my student's final project to make them feel like real authors. This project would really help with that.

Students love writing and I would love to have the laminating sheets, spiral bind machine to create these books for my students.

The gardening gloves will be used to support our gardening at school and provide hands on learning.
