This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love to collaborate with each other. They show up to our virtual class every day with their bright smiles ready to share ideas and support each other's learning. They are an amazing group of young leaders, scientists, athletes, innovators, creators, and writers.
My enthusiastic students are always eager to experience and learn new topics every day.
They are a very diverse group, with students from different cultures all working towards striving their individual goals in the class. They work hard and enjoy challenges!
My Project
I will be using the book, Because of Winn-Dixie, in a novel study. With this book students will have the oportunity to read and analyze.
The book will be used to engage families in a remote learning setting and support them to interact with their student in reading.
I want students and their families to appreciate and create a love for reading together. Together we will help these third graders learn about character development and summarizing. I plan to send these books home so students can interact and have family critical thinking discussions around the novel. Students will have the opportunity to learn from their family.
