I am a teacher in a Title I school. The majority of my students receive free lunch. The students that I serve live in an at risk community. My students are early learners. They are learning social skills and how to interact with each other. They are exploring the world and the world around them.
I will be teaching very young children.
Some of them have attended school before and some of them have not. I want to make my classroom inviting and I want my students to learn and be able to become life long learners.
I want my students to feel at home when they walk into my classroom. I want them to be able to understand and grasp all the standards that they are required to learn and more.
Reading is the core to everything we do. Students can learn about different things that interest them. They can learn about important people such as Maya Angelou, George Washington Carver and Abraham Lincoln.
It is so important for young learners to learn about people who helped shape America.
I'm requesting books that children will be able to read and learn from. This project includes books about weather, people and number sense.
These readers will be the perfect books for my students to read. The books are written in kid friendly language and they also include pictures that will help my students read along the way.
The more my students read the more they will know. My students are very curious and they love learning new things.
