My Students
I have 19 of the coolest kindergarteners around! I am so blessed to be their teacher and it saddens me that our time together has been cut short. My students would come to school eager to learn and excited to see their classmates. They made teaching fun and everyday an adventure and none of us were ready for it to end. Many of them are struggling with not being able to see their friends and teachers. Hearing that breaks my heart. They are working hard at home on their kindergarten skills through online resources and packets I have sent. I appreciate the students and their families for making the best out of this unfortunate situation. Go Rails!
My Project
I am requesting items that I can send to my students to help make this time apart a little more bearable. I would like for each of my students to get their own set of watercolor paints. I will split up the craft paper so each student gets some for their paintings and other art projects they may want to create.
I want them to know that they matter and I haven't stopped thinking about them!
It is important to me that my students also have books to read and enjoy. I am requesting a variety of books at different levels so I can meet the needs of my students. I am hoping to get 3 books for each of them. In addition to books for them, I have also chosen a couple of books that I would like to use for read alouds. The children love smelly pencils so I thought they would enjoy having their very own Smencils to use while they are working from home.
The PBIS theme in our school is superheroes. I thought it would be fun for them to make a superhero picture frame to remember their first year at our school.
I like writing to my students, so having notecards and postage will help make that happen more often. I am also in need of scissors so I can work on cutting out laminated activities that I can then send to students that need them.
Thank you for considering my project. I promise, my students are worth it!
