My Project

This project is inspired by the incredible impact our reading volunteers have on our students each week. These dedicated volunteers spend 30 minutes reading one-on-one with students, building confidence, fluency, and a deeper connection to stories. With this project, I hope to provide a fresh collection of high-interest, diverse, and engaging books that match students' reading levels and interests—books that will spark conversations, curiosity, and a lifelong love of reading.

These new books will make a meaningful difference in helping our students grow as readers and reach their goals.

For many of our struggling readers, having a consistent, caring adult to read with—and having access to books that truly excite them—can be the turning point in their reading journey. The Because of You Books will not only support academic growth, but they will also help foster positive relationships, build self-esteem, and show students that reading is both powerful and joyful. We believe in our students, and with the support of these books and our amazing volunteers, we’re helping them believe in themselves too.
