Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My fourth grade class loves to read novels together. I try to keep them motivated by finding different types of books that both boys and girls can identify with. Because of Winn Dixie is a tale of a lonely little girl who finds a dog in the Winn-Dixie grocery store and their adventures together. I would also like to get a copy of the movie that goes with the novel. I use it as a motivator and my students love to see the differences in the book and movie. We will be comparing and contrasting which goes along with our state skills for reading/language arts.
