My Students
I teach one exciting group of kids! They come to school ready to learn and inquire. I bring the heat each day through rigorous standards, expectations, and FUN! What is learning without fun? I get pumped to teach each day because the kids DESERVE my best! It’s like a production that you are selling each day! I love to build engaging lessons where students experience fun while still learning and practicing the standards.
My passion is literacy.
The early foundational skills are very important for early readers and transitional readers. Building a strong reading and writing workshop in my classroom is one of my main goals after creating a good repertoire with my students!
My Project
By attending the HelloLitCon, I will be able to grow professionally in literacy. I will be able to learn new strategies to help struggling readers and readers who need that extra support. Her professional development goes through the reading and writing workshop, higher level thinking strategies, running record analysis, and best practices for guided reading. She takes the time to help teachers refine their reading instruction and how to reach all readers.
In my classroom, I would be able to transform my whole group reading instruction and really fine tune how I teach during guided reading groups.
Kids deserve the best! By attending her seminar, I could offer more to the kiddos who I teach and will teach in the future! Students would be able to analyze texts better, attend to meaning, use higher level thinking skills, and meet state standards through strategies I would be able to teach them.
