A high energy, higher order thinking classroom. I teach juniors and seniors. I teach both Civics and Humanities. Humanities is designed to engage students in the rest of the world. The main goal of the class is to promote student thinking and realization. My students need a multimedia projector to view and analyze art work from various cultures. Our charter school is located in an urban area and has a high number of poverty stricken students who need this technology to help prepare them for college.

This is the first year I am teaching this Humanities class; when my class talks about art it is difficult for them to truly talk about its meaning, and the use of colors, when they only have black and white photocopies of the art work. If the students could see the art in color they could further their thinking. It is imperative that when the students go off to college, not only have they experienced and used this technology, but they know the importance of it. In order to be prepared for college, students need to be able to think analytically and one way they can do that is through analyzing art.

A projector would allow my students to really see the art work we are discussing. They need to be able to see the colors and lines in art work and the projector allows them to see that on a large scale.
