Beautifying Our Parks and Sharing Our Joy

Help me give my students supplies to beautify our park and spread joy with flowers and butterflies!

My Project

Our preschool special needs learners are SUPER EXCITED to get back to our community park where we will use the colored pinnies (with htv'd school information), and the STOP and SLOW signs to stay safe. While at the park, it is our intention to learn about our social responsibility to keep our parks clean. We also want to maintain a clean playground to encourage play and physical activity. We will use the wheelbarrow to transfer leaves, and transport some back to our classroom where we will add nature artifacts to our science center. While in the classroom, we will continue to learn about health and safety, by reading the requested book, along with the laminated teacher-made adapted books.

Beautiful spaces help create communities that are environmentally healthy, social connected, and economically sound.

Because of this, we will continue our environmental beautification mission in our classroom by planting wildflowers in the small flower pots. We will use the gardening tools to transfer the wildflowers to the park and also give flowers to our community vendors, community helpers, and frontline workers. Finally, as a culminating springtime project, we will spread joy by releasing butterflies in the park that will help pollinate the flowers and bring smiles and wonder to community members.

All of these activities will foster memorable and influential friendships while simultaneously helping out our local community. Through our donor support, we can help these youngsters learn their personal and social responsibilities and carry these skills into their futures.
