My students are inquisitive children who have a desire to learn.

Like anyone, if they aren't comfortable they aren't learning. Our school is in a lower income district but we don't qualify for Title 1 funding. Available carpets are provided first to kindergarten classes, then first grade. If any carpets are left, the other grade levels can request them.

My Project

I want to provide a carpet for my students to sit on during circle time. Second grade spends much of the class time on the floor for whole group instruction. The rug we were using was frayed and a safety hazard so we had to retire it. The carpet would give each student a comfortable space to sit in during group instruction.

I want improve the learning environment for the students so that they can devote all their attention to their studies and so they don't have the distraction of being uncomfortable while trying to learn.
