My students live in a residential care and treatment facility. Most come from very traumatic backgrounds and deal with a lot of mental health issues stemming from that. They love to be able to express their feelings through art. It allows them to have a voice and they create beautiful things they can keep, cherish, and be proud of.
Unfortunately, I do not have a budget for art supplies and we do not have an art room in our building as it is not a required course for our students.
Any supplies I get for our students comes out of my pocket.
I would love to be able to use my ability to teach art and help my students, who are beautiful creations, express their creativity!
