This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are fun-loving, smart and hard working! Our students come from all across the city to participate in the unique, ELL (English Language Learner) and ASD program specific for grades 6-8.

My students come from all different backgrounds to create a positive learning environment, where they will be encouraged to brainstorm, collaborate, and create works of art.

It is truly a unique urban setting.

Students at our middle school take an ​art class for an entire school year as a required elective/specials class and range in different skill levels and abilities.

My Project

My students LOVE showing off their displayed artwork throughout the building and our school has plenty of bulletin boards to use. I try to decorate each of these bulletin boards by theme. While I have some bulletin board materials, we are looking to expand our creativity throughout the school.

One thing I have noticed with my students is how proud they are whenever they see their artwork hung around the school.

I want to be able to surprise them with a more beautiful and professional looking bulletin boards so that they are really happy with their displays. These materials would be beneficial not only to myself​ but other members of the school and be really useful at our end of the year art show in May.
