This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are amazing and deserve the best! They love to read and take books to the cafeteria, the playground and home at night to read. I would love to protect these books and keep them in good condition for years to come. I would love to have each child decorate their own reading bag with colorful stickers in order to store and carry their books. This will allow each child to express their own individual identity by creating their very own bag but also keep the books safe and clean.

The decorated, individualized bags will allow them to display their own identity and interests while also keeping their books in good condition.

They will also be able to identify their own bag based on the design they created making it easier to find when brought to the cafeteria or play yard. I know this project will increase their motivation and engagement during independent reading.
