This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school is just over 94% economically disadvantaged and the average community member of our school did not attend college or technical school because of their immigration status. Once a week, I meet with the newcomer families in our community and provide them with classes in English and Spanish targeted at parental involvement in the educational process with an emphasis on early childhood development.

The bilingual books, snacks, and learning toys requested in this project will help keep the youngest children fueled and occupied as their parents engage in coursework related to their child's educational outcomes.

My program, Beautiful Beginnings, has supported thousands of young families in our community. Thank you for considering the impact of this project.
