My Students
Our early childhood school is now in its 12th year serving the community. In our PreK class, that means over 180 students have come and gone from this classroom. Along with that, many other students have called our room home for enrichment classes, after-school programs, and summer camp.
Families send their precious children to our class every day, for us to help them take those first steps towards accomplishing great feats.
Our families are working class parents who often work long hours to provide for their children.
Children make this room their home for however long they stay and miss it dearly when they move on. It's something we take pride in, and we hope to continue doing what we love to do and that nurtures their love of learning.
I've been teaching, at my first and current school, for seven years. No matter who enters through that door, they are part of our school family. I hope to provide them with the absolute best education we can offer.
My Project
It is such an amazing experience to watch children make and become friends with one another. For many students, socializing, communicating, and finding things in common with others may come very naturally. In the beginning of the school year, the social butterflies will find their friends who they will play, talk, and thrive socially throughout the year.
Recess is a time where our students can unwind and relax with friends.
For some of our children, finding a friend can be just as challenging as reading or writing. A buddy bench will help those who may need help making friends easier. Whenever they feel like they are finding it difficult to make a friend, they can seek out the buddy bench, sit down, and become buddies with others that are also in need of a friend.
In the past, our school had a small wooden buddy bench that worked really well for our kids. Unfortunately, the buddy bench did not last too long. We are hoping to get a real bench that will serve as a new and sturdy buddy bench for those who really need it to make a friend. A buddy bench provides a safe place for our kids to show that they desire a friend. For those who make friends easily, it's a place for them to see a friend in need and help out.
