My Students

Everyday my students face academic, social, and physical challenges. They should not worry about not having the tools they need to succeed. Budget cuts are getting worse each year, and the kids are directly effected.

My vibrant 4th graders come from all walks of life.

Mostly all of them receive free or reduce school lunches, walk or take the bus to school, and they struggle to master the English Language. Their urban school setting allow them to see the reality of the world, while exposing to issues that children should never face.

My Project

At the end of each school year, teachers anxiously await the future budget. It seems like for the past couple years our budget has been diminishing. Special resources, technology, and extra activities slowing begin to cease. Our classroom supply money will be taken a direct hit this coming year. These tools will help the students strengthen their skills throughout the day. Notebooks are for daily journals, and red pen are used for editing. Simple tools as magnets display writing or homework, and folders keep their worksheets organized. Glue is used throughout the week for art or constructing their language arts portfolio, and tape is handy for displaying resource posters. The most desired of them all would be the dry eraser markers. It's used everyday multiple times a day in all subject areas. Students also use them on their own lap boards. These tools all have a part in their academic success.

During these hard times we turn to the community for help.

This generous donation will give hope and demonstrate the power of a stranger's helping hand. My student will be forever grateful.
