My Students
My 2nd graders attend a collaborative, diverse, and creative public school in Brooklyn, NY. We teach our students to be intellectually curious learners, socially responsible citizens, and dynamic problem solvers.
I want my students to have as many memorable and enriching experiences as possible by introducing them to all forms of art and culture, such as fine arts, theater, photography, and dance.
Part of being socially and civically responsible citizens is understanding the history, culture, language, art, and traditions of other cultures by which they're surrounded, and by gaining an appreciation for different art forms, languages, historical events, and types of expression. I am also teaching them to be responsible citizens and students, kind human beings, and all-around fantastic "bucket fillers"!
My Project
I was blessed with incredibly motivated and curious students. Not only do they love learning, creating, and exploring, but they LOVE reading! I love to share my passion for reading with them, especially by bringing books into the classroom that I read when I was a child.
Having a collection of Berenstain Bears books will not only provide hours of reading enjoyment for my students, but the books will also help to reinforce the character education lessons I teach and the community activities we do in our classroom!
I am looking forward to seeing my students explore themselves and their world with the same books I loved so much as a child.
