My students need a comfortable place to use in our classroom library to do their independent reading. These beanbag chairs will provide room for 4 students to sit and read.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a dual language community school that serves ECE through sixth grade students. We provide a rigorous bilingual academic program that prepares all of our students for global citizenship in the 21st century. In the school, 97% of our student population participate in the free and reduced-price lunch program. The student body is 91% Latino/Hispanic, 4% Black, 3% White, and 2% Asian. My students love to learn and have the desire to learn at the beginning of their day. My students struggle with reading. They strive to grow as readers each and every day.
I would love for my students to have a cozy spot to sit for independent and buddy reading.
I am asking for five beanbag chairs and The kids do a lot of learning while sitting on the floor! My goal is to create a cozy, welcoming environment that will be great for my students to do their best and to learn in! They are sitting and learning throughout much of our day on concrete flooring with just a little bit of thin, 40 year-old carpet for padding. Some seating comfort would make a big difference.
My Project
My kindergarten students struggle with staying in one spot while reading to themselves and to a partner. Students currently have to sit on the floor or in an uncomfortable standard chair to read in our library. Every student deserves a place in their classroom that becons them to come and is comfortable enough to encourage them to stay as they read. I am asking for 4 beanbag chairs for students to use in our classroom library.
Comfortable seating will encourage students to spend more time with their books.
With these beautiful, comfortable and unique seating options, students will be making this center a top choice for students during literacy centers.
