I have 19 amazing children who are all 5 years old! We have 10 girls and 9 boys in our class this year. We live in a rural area on the eastern shore of Maryland not too far from Annapolis. We have children from dual-parent families, single parent families, and several who speak English as a second language. About 25% of our class gets free or reduced-price meals, and a few take home a bag of food each weekend from our local Backpack Club food pantry program. These boys and girls are excited to learn and are extremely hard workers who like to please their teachers! These children are excited to learn and grow in their first full-day school experience!
My Project
Three new colorful beanbag chairs would help make the reading center a cozy and comfortable place to dive into a book in our classroom. My kindergarten students will be learning to read this year and part of becoming a lifelong reader is the feeling that comes with curling up with a good book.
Beanbag chairs are fun, colorful, and cozy, and can make a huge difference in a classroom reading center!
You will be giving these children a great place to sit while they enjoy reading their books and they will be so thankful!
