My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! When they enter into the classroom they are full of energy and excitement. It is hard for most of them to stay engaged while sitting in a hard, uncomfortable chair all day. They often get fidgety and restless.

I would like the opportunity to offer them flexible seating options that will make them more comfortable while they are learning!

A comfortable learning environment will lead to more student engagement, which means more success.

My Project

Research states that students learn better when they are comfortable. The majority of the students are not comfortable at a traditional desk and chair. My students will greatly benefit from having various seating options in the classroom. With flexible seating, students will be able to work independently in their seat choice.

Not only will flexible seating encourage learning independence, it will also allow students to take ownership of their learning style and decisions.

Bean bag chairs are a perfect fit for a flexible seating classroom.

Students are more focused when sitting on a sofa or lounging on a bean bag. My students will maximize reading when they are in a more relaxing environment. Students can focus on learning however they are most comfortable.
