Bean Bags for Books!

My students need 2 big comfy bean bag chairs, classroom library book labels, and prompts for fiction and nonfiction to spruce up our classroom library!

My Students

I love reading, and so do my students! The only problem is our school has no library, but that won't stop us! Help make our classroom library comfy, cozy, and complete!

I teach fourth graders at one of the charter schools that opened in an area that was devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

My students are African American, Vietnamese, and Hispanic, and many of them live in poverty. Many of my students haven't ever had access to a school library or public library, so our classroom library is very important to each of them.

My Project

Our school is housed in a series of trailers built to be used far less than they have been. The floors are rotting and I wish I could provide them a solid classroom in a permanent building. Since that may be years away for our school, I'm doing my best to create the most comfortable and welcoming learning environment for my students. Bean bags would be a wonderful addition to our reading corner, and they would give my students a VIP reading section to get lost in a book.

It may not seem like much, but a few big bean bags, some easy to read book labels, and reading prompts will make a big difference to our cozy classroom library! Help me give my students the resources they need to make reading an awesome experience.
