This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are autistic and they need sensory items throughout the day because it makes them feel relaxed.

The classroom has 13 autistic children.

Our classroom is a low incidence room. I want my students to have a comfortable area to read their books. Many of my students prefer sensory items to feel while they are doing an activity. Being able to get my students bean bag chairs would help them feel relaxed.

My Project

The students will enjoy the bean bag chairs a great deal when they are at centers or reading in the little library that we are creating in the classroom. With this item being a sensory item as well it would benefit the students sensory sensation. Our library will have about 1,000 books with 2 carpets and quiet part of the room for students to enjoy reading.

The donations to our classroom would help my students feel comfortable while sitting on sensory items and having them enjoy the bean bag chairs with reading materials and understanding that their needs are being met.
