Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Bilingual Inclusion teacher at a title 1 school. The students are very creative and resourceful. They will turn empty boxes into characters and settings from the books they have read. Every time, I introduce a new book it is such a treat to see them explore the books, then write and draw their own pictures of the characters while coming up with new endings. Our school is celebrating “Read Across America” on March 2, 2023 and our staff’s dream is to be able to give each student a book to take home. The gift of literacy is the best gift that we can give for our most precious gift, our Scholars!
