Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a high school English teacher. I also use my classroom as a "safe space" for students before school, during lunch, and after school. Students can come to my class to converse, relax, work on homework/classwork, etc.

Occasionally, I give my students in my classrooms a "mental health" day, especially after a big project, or crazy week.

I would love to continue to provide a calm and clean classroom for my students. When they are not doing their school work, students love to listen to music, draw/color, and play cards/games. Having the necessary supplies will make them feel more comfortable and help their overall mental health.

The better their mental health is, the better they can learn and stay focused. I want students to feel comfortable in my classroom and know they can come to my room anytime and feel calm.
