With this new equipment, my students will have the opportunity to try new skills. Students in my school have special needs and require constant modifications and support. Exposing them to new skills and activities enhances their learning and provides an enriched PE program.
I do not have access to a gymnasium, so the basketball hoops would give an opportunity for students to work on their shooting skill.
The scooter hockey sticks would allow me to introduce a modified version of hockey in the classroom that I use as a gymnasium. The stepping stones would benefit my lower students that need to work on balance and following simple directions.
I love to provide my students with new and exciting opportunities that will allow them to have fun and memorable experiences. Working with special needs students that range from, low functioning to higher functioning, requires many modifications as well as variations in equipment in order to address the needs of all students.
