My Students
BE CREATIVE B-E CREATIVE! Is our class motto. I love being able to teach my students to be their full individual and creative self through the power of books and reading. Having a organized classroom can do just that!
Wow, do I have a wonderful group of kids year after year or what?!
I have a range of students reading levels and capabilities but luckily they all have a great passion for reading. We attend school in a suburban community with students who love coming to school. I think they would love school even more with the reading resources at their grasp.
My Project
I think I have the most ambitious and eager to learn students, especially when it comes to reading. Never have I had a class where I have to beg them to put their books down. I have a plethora of books for them to read but it makes it difficult when they are not categorized or leveled for them to search and read. With the storage carts it will be amazing at how well they will keep books organized and easier to find their area of interest especially when it comes to rotating classrooms. I also think it is important for my students to not only read to themselves but to hear others reading books to them, that is why the CD player plays a huge role in this grant.
As a teacher in a year round school I am of course a teacher that is to rotate.
Which includes my reading library. This is difficult to move and keep organized rotation after rotation. I think my students would enjoy the library more if they could find the books easier. When a class is organized the students are more attentive and instead of wasting many minutes to find a book they can go right to that bin and choose their book that is going to feed their hunger for reading.
