This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach fifth graders that belong to different backgrounds and ethnicities in San Jose, California. My students are enthusiastic, inquisitive, and inquiring learners who love to come to school each day. They are remarkably inspired to learn and do their best in school.
I teach at an exceptional, diverse, and distinctive school in California where more than 71% of students receive free and reduced-price lunch.
My students speak many different languages like Spanish, Vietnamese, Greek, Tagalog or Dutch at home. We always celebrate the things that make us different, and the things that make us the same. This wonderful class is a family at school.
My Project
Throughout the years, my students and I have been using BrainPOP as a resource of information. My class does not have this tool at school anymore. The website shows educational videos on Math, Science, Historical events and much more.
BrainPOP videos are used either as warm ups or independent work in class all the time.
My students would use BrainPOP as a resource to investigate, as a tool to take a quiz , and as a device to be motivated to write.
Brainpop would also help in my teaching during class and give me access to create different learning activities.
