This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All the STEM items and flexible seating will help me build a STEM center in which I can include science, technology, engineering, and math. I like the idea of incorporating science in sports and a calming center together for my special education students. Using the center in science class, students come to the center for guided practice and modeled strategies of how they can use sensory items to build and learn about STEM. The center will allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. It can also be a space in which they are able to take a break and have fun learning.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus.
You will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will be able to focus and obtain their instructional accommodations by receiving breaks when needed and a center to help them deescalate. My students need accommodations and extended time and breaks as needed. This STEM center will help students enjoy fun and interactive activities around science.
