Battle of the Books: Win the Battle

Help me give my students books to compete in the Battle of the Books. The titles I ordered are copies they read as they complete novels and do a summary.

My Students

My students work well together. They are willing to cooperate in groups and help others individually. I see students assisting other students with math, reading, and even cleaning a desk. When the custodian needed help with setting up chairs, my students volunteered to help him.

We have an at-home reading program that requires students to turn in a calendar each week with at least 120 minutes recorded and signed.

We average at least 80% and sometimes 90%. per week. Independent reading has become important to my students. They understand that they are becoming better readers and that they love to read

My Project

The titles of novels that I ordered are titles on the Battle of the Books list. Student can have easy access to book titles and discuss the books with other students. These books are very different and they represent diversity of character and authors. The Graveyard Book, Beyond the Bright Sea, Hello Universe, Lucky Broken Girl, and Word of Mouse are titles of books included on the list.

The science materials I ordered will help give enough materials to have smaller science lab groups to give students more hands-on learning The test tubes racks, and magnets are needed to complete my labs.

It is important to have the right amount of science materials so students are able to get time to learn and experiment.
