This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is putting together our first ever “Battle of the Books” competition for the 2025-2026 school year and we’re interested in making this a fun, memorable event for our students, and we would love to receive support.

Our school serves low-income students, multi-language students, and struggling readers, and the goal of this program is to help encourage a life-long love of reading!

In “Battle of the Books”, students within their groups will have eight months to read, analyze, and become masters of ten hand-selected books. At the end, a trivia-based competition will challenge the groups to see who knows the books the best! To make this event a success, we need at least four copies of each book from our selected list so that all our student competitors have a fair chance to read their battle books. The following is the list of books that we need and we are super excited because these are all wonderful, diverse books that our students will love!
