My students come from a wide range of cities within Essex County, New Jersey, and represent very diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. My students are creative and smart, but are in need of an outlet in which to engage with STEAM while tapping into their creative side.
Through the hard work of my students on FIRST Tech Challenge Team 11180 and the recognition by administrators of the value and impact of STEAM, we have begun a robotics/engineering class at school this year!
My students crave anything new and STEAM related, and their engagement soars with such projects.
We have been using the standard battery chargers that are included with our robot kits. One of the problems we face is that these chargers are good, but if a battery is not immediately removed from the charger upon completion, it will continue to charge, and damage the battery. This one unit will eliminate 4 individual chargers , helping us to become better organized while extending the life of our batteries.
In addition to the great coding and engineering lessons, this charger will help with class organization and build soft skills such as repsonsinbility for ensuring your battery is charged and ready for the next lesson.
