Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have been very busy growing our school band program for almost nine years now. I am happy to say that we have been so fortunate to have acquired many of our instruments through DonorsChoose and through the generous gifts of our donors. With more band instruments, we can further grow our program as we continue to be a positive force to promote music in our community.
A bass trombone would be a realistic means to bring the bass sound we need instead of a tuba which is just too big for students of our age group.
Currently, we have a number of students who have become quite successful in learning to play the trombone. These students could each have the opportunity to take on the very important responsibility of playing the lowest sounds of the band. This will be another exciting landmark event in the building of our organization.
