My Project

As winter and student breaks approach, we aim to teach our special education students the value of empathy and compassion by creating and distributing food, snacks, and hygiene baskets for 6 families in need within our school community. This project will help students understand the importance of giving and the impact of their actions on others.

This winter, our students will learn the true meaning of compassion by creating and distributing food, snacks, and hygiene baskets for families in need.

Our students will develop empathy by learning about the challenges faced by families who struggle to afford basic hygiene products, snacks, and food. Through various activities (discussions and media productions), they will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of helping others during the holiday season.

Students will actively participate in collecting and assembling food, snacks, and hygiene baskets for families in need. We will focus on items that cannot be bought using food assistance cards (paper products and hygiene). This hands-on project will teach them the importance of community service and how their efforts can bring joy and relief to others.

To evaluate the success of our project, we will use various assessment tools (journals) to measure students’ growth in empathy and compassion.

Through this project, they will understand the importance of giving and the positive impact it can have on their school community. Your support will help us make this a memorable and meaningful experience for our students and the families they assist.
