These supplies have already made a tremendous difference in the way my students learn and interact with one another. One of the very first projects we completed with the new tools involved using Kagan cooperative learning structures to build collaboration, communication, and confidence. During our \"Solve-and-Share\" rotations, students moved from station to station with their whiteboards in hand, tackling math problems, checking work with partners, and working through misconceptions together. The simple act of having individual whiteboards and markers for each student completely transformed the activity. Students were able to quickly revise their thinking, try multiple strategies, and visually walk their partners through their ideas. The room buzzed with excitement as they realized that learning could be both active and fun. These resources allowed students to fully participate in hands-on learning without barriers, and I saw even my quieter students grow more willing to take risks and share their thinking.\r\n\r\nTheir first reaction to seeing the materials is something I will never forget. When the students walked in and saw the whiteboards neatly arranged in bright, organized caddies—with fresh markers, sharpened pencils, and crisp paper ready to go—several of them immediately said, \"Wow! Are these for us?\" Their eyes lit up, and the energy in the room shifted instantly. Students touched the edges of the whiteboards like they were brand new tablets and eagerly sorted the markers into the caddies before I even asked. Many of them commented on how \"official\" everything felt now that they each had the supplies they needed to participate fully. One student said, \"I feel like a real mathematician now,\" which was such a powerful reminder of how meaningful access to tools can be. Having quality materials made students feel proud, capable, and excited to learn—an emotional lift that has carried into every lesson since. The resources didn't just fill supply gaps; they created a sense of ownership and belonging in our classroom community.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has also opened the door for the next steps in our ongoing learning. Right now, my students are beginning a multi-step problem-solving unit where they will be applying their reasoning skills in increasingly complex ways. Thanks to you, each student will have the tools needed to participate in every stage of this process—from brainstorming and sketching models on their whiteboards, to organizing their ideas on paper, to collaborating using our Kagan structures that require frequent partner and team interaction. The storage caddies have made it possible for students to access materials quickly and transition smoothly between activities, which allows us to spend more time engaged in meaningful learning. As we move forward, students will use these materials in daily math workshops, literacy tasks, reflection activities, and peer teaching opportunities. I look forward to watching their confidence continue to grow and to sharing the progress made possible because of you.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in my students and supporting their learning in such a tangible, thoughtful way. Your contribution has changed the tone, energy, and possibilities within our classroom, and we are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1757600425990,"projectUrl":"project/dream-kagan-classroom/9448720/","projectTitle":"Dream Kagan Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shirel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9647501_orig.jpg?crop=796,796,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723394614173","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9647501"},{"teacherId":8963989,"projectId":8735239,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity and support of our \"Baskets of Gratitude and Compassion\" project! Because of you, my students were able to experience the joy of giving back to their community in a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nWith the food, snacks, hygiene products, and baskets you provided, my students worked together to assemble and distribute care packages for families in need this winter. This hands-on project taught them invaluable lessons about empathy, compassion, and the power of helping others. Watching their excitement and pride as they worked on these baskets was heartwarming and a true testament to the positive impact of your kindness.\r\n\r\nThis project not only helped us provide much-needed support to families in our community but also created an opportunity for my students to grow as individuals. They've learned that small acts of kindness can have a significant ripple effect, and they've carried this lesson with them beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nYour support has made a lasting difference—not just in the lives of those we served but also in the hearts and minds of my students.
