This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a very diverse population. My classroom has students from many different backgrounds with many languages and countries represented.

Their parents are hard working, loving parents but because of hardships, students are often left with daycare while mom and dad work.

Parents are often working through the evening. They are not moving as much as they should.

My students are bright and eager to learn play games. Any new piece of equipment or experience brings great excitement. This high engagement brings great rewards.

My Project

My students are in need of some basketballs and soccer balls to help me teach fitness concepts, like kicking a ball or bouncing a ball. I desire to teach them how to set personal goals for themselves in the areas of bouncing (using both hands) or kicking (distance or controlling the ball). I will address all ability levels and help students advance from their own starting point. My concern is lack of equipment at our school site, this opportunity will help me implement my goals. My approach will be a systematic approach to building on each student's own skills. The outcome will be students who are proficient at bouncing and kicking a ball.
