Basketball Players Need Jerseys

Help me give my students 20 home jerseys and 20 away jerseys so they have their own uniforms instead of borrowing them.

My Students

Our boys and girls athletes are determined and hard working. They put more into learning the game and developing as players more than most. They are all seventh and eighth graders. They are enthusiastic and energetic. We are in a rural area with no outdoor parks or places to play football or basketball except in the school setting.

They want to become better athletes but do not always have the funds to pay for what they need to improve their skills.

School budgets are spread thin with physical education and athletics the last to receive funding.

My Project

Last year our basketball teams had to borrow jerseys in order to compete in games. This was a struggle when the other team had a home game or away game on the same day and time.

Our players need their own jerseys so they can compete this season instead of having to borrow from another team.

Our players work hard and deserve to have the equipment and uniforms to compete at the same high level in which they practice and work. Having your own team's jersey, instead of having to wear another teams, would be a huge morale boost. It is tough having to use another team's jerseys so you can compete. These jerseys will last for years and give each year's team their own jersey.

We know this is a large project but each year 20 kids will be working and competing in their own jerseys. Self-esteem will raise with their team name across their jerseys.
