Basics of Gymnastics

Help me give my students the supplies required for safe gymnastics practice in PE.

My Project

Students will be able to use these supplies to learn the basic skills of gymnastics. When I told students that we would have a gymnastics unit where they could do their cartwheels and other skills, they got very excited and could not wait. I would love help so that I can provide this opportunity for students.

The skills these supplies will help students learn include cartwheels, somersaults, and balancing on a balance beam.

Gymnastics is part of the Iowa PE standards and there is a HUGE interest within our elementary, but we do not have a safe place for them to learn or practice their skills. This project will help me teach the standards students need while providing a safe environment for students, regardless of their skill level.
