Basics for ESL

My students need folders and other basic materials such as pens, markers, and papers in order accomplish their goal of learning English and being successful students and citizens of the United States.

My Students

My students come from all over the world but have met at SHS in Worcester, MA to form a tight, supportive community. My students are English Language Learners and are making significant headway in developing their English skills and academic language. The vast majority of my students are economically disadvantaged. In spite of having to overcome a myriad of obstacles, my students are also some of the most intelligent, inspiring, and generous people you could ever meet. Many are on track to be the first person in their family to receive a high school diploma and attend college.

My Project

My students come from all over the world and are eager to learn to read and write in English. Most are proficient in their native language and really love learning English. My students don't necessarily have the economic means to purchase these basic supplies or are often unaware what they need to bring. The most basic of schools supplies such as folders, pens, paper, and markers will be used to keep organized and create projects to assist in the learning of the English language. I hang flags from all the countries we come from in the classroom, just added Cuba, so excited to hang that flag and welcome our new student. Thank you for thinking of us.
