This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the students always asking for a pencil were the next great thinker, philosopher, president, or historian? Our students deserve the tools to create, learn and thrive. By having resources available in the classroom, my students are more likely to take notes, complete projects, and study. They are more likely to build their confidence in their abilities as a learner because they had access to the basic student necessities like pencils, index cards and markers.

Education is an environment for everyone and by meeting my students where they’re at and providing them the basics when they need them, they are twice as likely to do well and actually learn something from the class.

Not every family has the ability to provide resources for their student(s) and as an educator and role model, it is my duty and belief that I should help where I can and when I can.

My students deserve the best! They come from all different walks of life. They teach me new things about their cultures, beliefs and lives. They deserve to be supported in the classroom and that starts with the basics.
