My Students

I am happy to teach 18 awesome and energetic K-1 students in my inclusion classroom! We call ourselves the Owls and the name is very fitting. They are all very wise and constantly teaching me something new each day!

My Owls have a beautiful range of skills, and my main goal is to ensure that the content delivered is accessible and able to be internalized by all my students so that they can continue to succeed throughout the school year!

I want to inspire them to continue to persevere, to step out on that ladder of hope, despite whatever language, socioeconomic or disability barrier they may face outside the classroom.

My Project

In pre-k, we spend a lot of time learning skills for improving school readiness. One of the most important skills we work on is independence. Students learn to keep track of their materials and how to use them the right way. This project is requesting many of the basic essentials needed for students to be successful throughout the day, weather seeing themselves in a read aloud as they learn concepts of print, being responsible in cleaning their stations after a fun STEAM project or working on letter recognition with magnet letters.

In order to best support my Owls in becoming independent learners, I need supplies and resources that the students can access and eventually master with little to no support.

I plan to create and post shared reading poems around the classroom on chart paper to help them see and adore their creations, as well as providing them with. I also will use the colorful draws for math and reading center materials. The kinetic sand will also be a great resource for fine motor and literacy skills combined!
