Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach third grade in a primarily immigrant and working-class neighborhood in southern California. My students are hard workers who are motivated to reach their goals. For example, our school has both the ST Math program and the Accelerated Reader program which motivate my students to improve in math and reading.
Most of my students are learning English as a second language.
A couple of them are receiving special education, speech and intervention services. All of them love to learn.
My Project
I need a few basic supplies that will help my third grade classroom run more smoothly. I like to provide my students with sheet protectors so that they can keep some much-used papers safely protected in their folders. Students also use the sheet protectors as mini dry erase boards when they slip papers inside them.
We also need some labels, which are used for displays and labeling inside reading books.
The toner is for the laser printer that we use throughout the day to print various class papers and reports. With the addition of these supplies, my students will be able to work more efficiently.
