Curious, imaginative, fun-loving, creative: these are just some of the words I'd use to describe my new group of students. My classroom is made up of eight smart and endearing young people diagnosed with Autism. We are located in a low-income school where I need to buy most of my own supplies. An autism classroom is not run in the traditional way.
My students require a much more individualized and specialized way of learning.
They learn through hands-on materials and visuals. When provided with this type of learning environment, my students can learn and excel! But first, we need some basic supplies to keep our classroom running smoothly!
My Project
My classroom needs some basic supplies - glue, binders, pencils and highlighters and more. My school is very under-funded and I often need to buy these materials with my own money. We need these resources to keep our classroom up and running. We will use these materials across all areas of our classroom - from art projects to creating work station tasks and schedules. My students need pencils, pencils to complete work sheets. We need binders to store their homework and daily completed classwork. Lastly, we need glue to create art project, since our school does not offer art class anymore.
Donors Choose has been an amazing resource to my classroom - it has kept us up and running!
The generosity of donors like you have given my student the necessary resources for them to learn and develop! Please continue to support my class and autism awareness.
